The National Beta Club is the nation's largest independent, educational, non-profit, youth organization. The purpose is to both encourage and reward academic acheivement, and to promote those qualities of character that make for good citizenship. Students who are working on or above grade level and show exemplary academic achievement, worthy character, and commendable attitude may be invited to join The National Beta Club, here, through GCHS.
This is an invitation-only club. Students with a GPA of 3.5 and higher are invited their sophomore year. Additionally, if their GPA drops below a 3.2 they are placed on academic probation for one semester. If the GPA is brought up to par, they return to good standing; including whether they are no longer a member. While on probation, though, students are not allowed to participate in club activities.
Additionally, there is a one-time, national fee per division. Divsions include both Junior Beta, for qualifying students in the 5th-9th grades, and Senior Beta, for qualifying students in 9th-12th grades.
